This Privacy Policy explains how Doctor AI ("Doctor AI," "the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the Doctor AI mobile application and related services.
Doctor AI provides general health education and wellness tools only. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical treatment, and it is not a substitute for a licensed clinician or emergency services.
By using Doctor AI, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
About Doctor AI
Doctor AI provides artificial intelligence–assisted health education and wellness tools, which may include AI health conversations, symptom information, medicine information and safety tools, health and wellness tracking, BMI calculations, period tracking, prescription and lab-report scanning, reminders, and educational guides.
Some features work entirely on your device without artificial intelligence. AI-powered features send the information you enter to a third-party AI provider, as described in Sections 4 and 5, and only after you give permission.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the features you use. Depending on which features you use, this may include:
Age or age range
Sex or gender information
Height and weight
Symptoms and health concerns
Allergies
Existing medical conditions
Medicine and supplement information
Vital-sign information
Menstrual-cycle information
Family profile information
Emergency contact details
Questions and messages you enter into AI conversations
Prescription, medicine, or laboratory-report images you choose to scan or import
Feedback and support communications
Limited subscription information (subscription status, product purchased, purchase or renewal date, expiration date, and transaction identifier), received from Apple
Basic device and technical information used to operate and secure the App
Most health information you enter is stored locally on your device. It is transmitted off your device only when you use an AI-powered feature and only after you consent, as described below.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
Provide the features you request
Generate AI-powered educational and informational responses
Display and organize health and wellness information you enter
Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App
Process and manage subscriptions and premium access
Respond to feedback and support requests
Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your personal health information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal health information.
Artificial Intelligence Processing and Our Third-Party AI Provider
Doctor AI's AI-powered features (such as specialist chat, symptom education, prescription and lab-report explanations, medicine information, and generated educational reports) work by sending the text of your request to a third-party artificial intelligence service to generate a response.
Who receives your data: The third-party AI provider is Google LLC, through the Google Gemini API (the Google Generative Language API). When you use an AI-powered feature, the content of your request is transmitted to Google LLC to process it and return an educational response.
What is sent: The information sent to Google LLC consists of the question or message you type, and any symptom details, medication names, health profile information, or extracted text from scanned images that you choose to include in that request. Images you scan are processed on your device; only the text you submit is sent to the AI provider.
When it is sent and your permission: Nothing is sent to the AI provider until you have given permission. The first time you use an AI-powered feature, the App presents an "AI Data Sharing" consent screen that explains what is sent and that it is sent to the Google Gemini API operated by Google LLC, and asks for your agreement before any data is transmitted. If you do not agree, no data is sent and all non-AI tools remain available. You can withdraw this permission at any time in Profile → AI Data Sharing.
How the AI provider handles your data: Data sent to the Google Gemini API is used to generate your requested response and to operate and secure the service. Google LLC processes this data under its own privacy commitments and applicable terms. You can review Google's privacy practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy and the API terms at https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms . We require that data shared with our AI provider be handled with privacy and security protections consistent with those described in this Policy, and it is not used to serve you advertising.
Important: AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific circumstances. Do not use AI-generated content as a medical diagnosis, prescription, or treatment decision. Please do not enter unnecessary identifying information into AI conversations.
How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal health information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
Third-party AI provider: As described in Section 4, when you use an AI-powered feature, the content of your request is shared with Google LLC through the Google Gemini API to generate your response, after your consent.
Apple: Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive limited subscription information from Apple, as listed in Section 2.
Service providers: We may use service providers (for example, cloud hosting and infrastructure) that process information only to provide services to us and are required to apply appropriate privacy and security protections.
Legal and safety requirements: We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws or valid legal requests, protect the safety of users or others, investigate fraud, misuse, or security incidents, enforce our terms, or protect our legal rights.
Business transfers: If the App or its assets are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and continued privacy protection.
Apple Health
Apple Health access is optional. Doctor AI will only access the data types you explicitly authorize, and you can change or revoke Apple Health permissions at any time through the Health app or your device settings. Information obtained through Apple Health is used only to provide the features you request, is not used for advertising, marketing, user profiling, or sale to data brokers, and is not sent to the AI provider unless you include it in an AI request.
Data Retention
Health information you enter is stored locally on your device and remains until you delete it or remove the App. Content you submit to the AI provider is processed to generate your response and is handled by that provider under its own retention practices. Subscription information is retained as needed to manage your access and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Rights
You can use most non-AI tools without sharing data with the AI provider.
You can grant or withdraw AI data-sharing permission at any time in Profile → AI Data Sharing.
You can delete health entries within the App, and you can remove all locally stored data by deleting the App.
You can manage or revoke Apple Health access in the Health app or device settings.
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information; contact us using the details below.
Children's Privacy
Doctor AI is not directed to children and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
International Users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by our AI and service providers, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate protection for your information.
Advertising and Tracking
Doctor AI does not display third-party advertising and does not use your personal health information to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, through in-app notice.
