Dr. Dnyanesh Vernekar is currently a Program Manager for Advanced Batteries at IIT Bombay. He is part of a team involved in setting up a basic R&D facility under the Strategized Research Approach (SRA) catering to SMALL form factor pouch cells (~2-3Ah or less; 8.2 cm x 6.2 cm & 5.8 cm x 4.5 cm ).
Prior to this he did his post doctoral research under Prof. Srinivasan Ramakrishnan at IIT Bombay, where he worked on understanding the influence of order, size, and conductivity in titanates for Lithium ion / Sodium ion batteries.
Dr. Dnyanesh Vernekar defended his Ph.D. Thesis (20th January 2021) at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. He completed his PhD under the guidance of Prof. Dinesh Jagadeesan (IIT-Palakkad) and Prof. Chandrashekhar Rode (CSIR-NCL). His PhD work was on exploring the active sites responsible for multifunctional catalysis on Metal-Oxyhydroxides. Apart from research, he likes to lift weights in the gym.
