A written event is a 10 or 20 page business plan paper. (50% of your score) and a presentation on your plan (the other 50% of your score)
A roleplay is a 1 or 2 person event that consists of a test (50% of the your score) and an impromptu scenario that you will have to prepare and present in a short period of time (the other 50% of your score).
DECA’s Professional Selling and Consulting Events provide an opportunity for participants to demonstrate skills needed for a career in sales and/or consulting.
Participants will organize and deliver a sales presentation or consultation for one or more products /services /customers. The presentation will be prepared ahead of time before coming to the state competition.
(It’s basically a role play, but you get to prepare weeks or months before the event!)
DECA has 5 unique chapter campaigns, that promote membership, global entreprenuership week, community service, advocacy, and marketing the DECA program.
Chapter campaigns serve as a way to gain recognition from DECA, involve community memberts, and gain leadership spots for internationals.
Virtual Events are simulation based events that allow students to apply their skills in real life situations.
Using your business skills and promotion strategies, you compete against other people by managing your personal finance and build a net worth, managing a companies finances, or hosting events.
We even have a Stock Market Game, in which to get a budget to invest in real time stock and incur maximum profits.
