Goa College Librarians’ Association (GCLA)
The Goa College Librarians’ Association (GCLA) was founded in the year 2016 primarily to provide a platform to the Librarians of the Institutions of higher learning in the state of Goa. The association has been conducting various activities such as workshops, and state and national level seminars for the development of profession and library movement in the state of Goa. It was inaugurated on the 9th of July 2016 at the hands of Ex-Speaker of Goa Assembly Late Mr. Vishnu Surya Wagh. The GCLA aims to promote fellow feeling, social interaction between the librarians, self-help, self-reliance and self-respect among librarians working in academic institutions.
Karnataka State College Librarians’ Association (KSCLA)
Karnataka State College Librarians Association was established in 1979 with an objective to improve the service of the college libraries, improve the status and service conditions of library staff, co-operate actively to benefit mutually from the resources available to the libraries, strengthen the financial resources of the college libraries and raise the professional standards of library staff in the college libraries.
During the span of three decades, significant achievements have been made for the cause of librarianship in Karnataka State to develop the college libraries on par excellence. At present, Karnataka State College Librarians Association initiated organisation of regional workshops and conferences on total quality improvement in libraries in different parts of Karnataka and in neighbouring states.
