(35%) Final Project – This includes the final performance and the documentation
(35%) Participation and Attendance - Participation is the key to doing well in this class. This course will allow you to make intelligent decisions about performance, design, production, and process. You will be required to ask questions and be a critical audience to your classmates and your own work. Your participation and contribution will add to the intensity of the class. Our idea of class participation involves communicating either verbally during class or in writing after class. If you are not comfortable speaking in class, then you should email us a response to the class and share your thoughts- this will also count as participation.
(30%) Completion of all assignments and readings
You can't participate if you are absent from class. If you are going to be absent from class you must contact us by email. More than two unexcused absences will result in a letter grade reduction (e.g., B => B-) in the class participation portion of your grade.
Small weekly assignments will be announced on the class website. Please check the website frequently for announcements and for items that are due.

Diversity and Inclusion
The TCS Department is dedicated to the university's goals for diversity, equity and inclusion. At the department level, we would like everyone to think about the perspectives present in their current author/book/article list in their syllabi: Are your authors diverse? Do they provide the students with diverse opinions of the topic they are studying? Are their additional authors (people of color, women) who can be added to your list? Please do think about these questions while preparing your final versions for submission.
