The second edition of the DM meets Nano workshop, to be held at the Masaryk University (Brno) on July 7-9, 2026, aims to bring together researchers working within Distributed Morphology and Nanosyntax, inviting them to share recent developments and findings in their respective frameworks and/or to examine (key) phenomena from a comparative perspective, highlighting both the similarities and differences between the two approaches. This way, the conference wants to encourage dialogue, interaction and cooperation amongst researchers interested in formal morphosyntax. We welcome submissions addressing any language or language family and any topic in the nominal and verbal domain, including those that explore the interfaces with phonology and/or semantics. Contributions that draw on cross-linguistic data or provide comparative perspectives are especially encouraged, as they enrich the broader theoretical and empirical discussions.
We welcome contributions for 20 minute talks, each followed by a 10 minute discussion session. As this workshop seeks to foster dialogue and collaboration between researchers working in Distributed Morphology and Nanosyntax, we especially welcome submissions that engage with one or more of the following topics:
Curious cases of syncretism
Suppletion and contextual allomorphy
*ABA-patterns
Structural gaps (e.g. (pro)nouns, TAM, gender…)
Perspectives on the different predictions made by DM and Nanosyntax
Phenomena at the interfaces with semantics and/or phonology
Agreement and concord
