Leek Prep Weekend Spring 1980
In the Spring of 1980, the composite C Squadron of DLOY paraded on Leek Training Area in Staffordshire under the watchful eye of the CO, Lt Col Patrick Cable-Alexander, The Squadron Leader, Maj Dick Ferguson gave a briefing on EX MARBLE TOR and issued orders. Maj General Michael Hicks visited and spent much time speaking with the troops. For many this was a unique opportunity to chat with our General Officer Commanding. Amongst the military training, troops were given the opportunity to fire the Carl Gustav 84mm anti-tank weapon.
