Effective Date: October 11, 2026
D Lens: Image Search & Scan (the "Application," "App," "we," "us," or "our") is developed and operated by Brainempowers ("Service Provider," "Company"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use D Lens, how we collect it, all the ways we use it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over your personal data, including how to revoke consent or request deletion.
D Lens uses artificial intelligence (AI) to identify objects, plants, animals, coins, antiques and other things in photos you take or choose, to show related web results and store prices, and to answer your follow-up questions in a chat. Because a photo can contain personal information (for example people, places or documents), this policy is written to be especially clear about where your photos go, who processes them, and how long they are kept. D Lens does not perform facial recognition or biometric identification.
By downloading, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application.
Contact: brainempowers.apps@yahoo.com
Photos you take with the camera or choose from your photo library, used only for the identification or price comparison you start. D Lens only receives photos you take or select yourself; it does not scan or read the rest of your photo library.
Messages you type in the Ask AI chat, used only to answer you.
Purchase and subscription information, processed by Apple through the App Store, used to activate and manage the features you have paid for. We never see or store your payment card details.
Support communications you send us (for example emails to brainempowers.apps@yahoo.com), used to respond to your question or request.
D Lens does not offer account creation or login. There is no username, password or user profile.
Region: the country code of your device region (for example "US"), sent with price comparison requests so we can show prices for the right country.
IP address and request data: like any internet service, our servers receive your IP address and basic technical details with each request. We use them only to keep the service secure and to limit abuse (for example daily and hourly usage limits). Our hosting provider, Google Cloud, records standard server logs (request time, type and error codes). For price comparison, the product name the AI recognised is also written to these logs for troubleshooting. Logs do not contain your photos or chat messages.
Aggregated App Store statistics (downloads, sales and crash reports) are provided to us by Apple only for users who have agreed to share app analytics with developers in their iOS settings. We cannot identify you from them.
D Lens does not include any analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDK. We do not request your location, contacts, microphone or advertising identifier.
Camera: used to take a photo for identification and to scan QR codes and barcodes. QR code and barcode reading happens entirely on your device; nothing you scan this way is sent to us.
Photo library: D Lens uses the iOS photo picker, so the App only receives the specific photos you choose.
If a photo contains a face, it is handled like any other photo, as described in Section 3. We do not detect, recognise, match or store faces, and we do not create or keep face geometry, faceprints or other biometric identifiers. Please do not upload photos of other people without their permission, and do not upload photos of children.
D Lens Pro is offered as auto-renewing subscriptions (weekly and yearly). The yearly plan may include a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless they are cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid yearly subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple; we do not receive your payment details.
Our Terms of Use for subscriptions is Apple's standard license agreement (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
Because D Lens's core function is sending a photo you take or choose to AI services, this section describes that processing in full:
Identification (Scan): your photo is resized on your device and sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our server, hosted on Google Cloud in Mumbai, India. Our server sends it to the Google Gemini API, our third-party AI provider, which identifies what is in the photo and returns the information you see in the result.
Web matches: to find related web results, our server places a temporary copy of your photo in a Google Cloud Storage bucket under a random, hard-to-guess file name and gives that link to SerpApi, a third-party search service, which uses it to run a visual search and return matching pages. SerpApi and the search services it uses can open that link while the copy exists. The copy is deleted automatically after one day. The link is never published, but anyone who has the exact link could open the image until it is deleted.
Price comparison: your photo is sent to the Google Gemini API to recognise the product. Only the product name and your region code, not the photo, are then sent to SerpApi to look up store prices (Google Shopping listings).
Ask AI chat: the messages you type, together with the name of the item being discussed, are sent to the Google Gemini API to produce answers. Photos are not re-sent in chat.
Your permission: we ask for your permission before your photos or chat messages are sent to these third-party AI services, and you can decline. Without it the AI features cannot be used. You can withdraw it at any time (see Section 7).
No model training: we do not use your photos or messages to train, fine-tune or improve any AI model, ours or anyone else's, and we do not offer any program that does. How Google handles data it receives through the Gemini API is described in Google's own terms and privacy policy (see Section 5).
Our servers do not keep your photos or chat messages. They are processed in memory and forwarded as described above; the only copy we create is the temporary one used for web matches, deleted after one day.
Scan history and bookmarks: the results you scan and the bookmarks you save are stored locally on your device, in the App's History. We do not receive a copy. Deleting an item in History, or deleting the App, removes it from your device. If you back up your device, this data may be included in your device backup according to your Apple settings.
Not facial recognition: D Lens does not identify people, does not compare faces against any database, and does not create or store biometric data.
Web results, store links and logos: results can show thumbnails, website names and logos, which your device loads directly from the websites concerned and from Google's favicon service. That connection reveals your IP address and the website being shown to those services. Opening a result or store link takes you to a third-party website, which has its own privacy policy.
D Lens does not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising or cross-app measurement, and we do not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt. If we ever add such tracking, we will ask for your permission through Apple's ATT framework before any tracking begins, and we will honor your choice. You can review your tracking permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
We use information to:
Identify what is in your photo and show facts, web matches and store prices.
Answer your questions in the Ask AI chat.
Process subscriptions and in-app purchases through Apple.
Keep the service secure, apply usage limits and prevent abuse.
Fix problems and improve reliability and performance.
Respond to your support requests.
We do not use your photos, chat messages or personal data for advertising, profiling, selling, or biometric identification, and we do not use data for any purpose other than the ones stated in this policy.
D Lens uses the following third-party services. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy, and we only work with providers whose terms provide the same or equal protection of your data as stated in this Privacy Policy:
Google Gemini API (AI identification, product recognition and chat answers) - policies.google.com/privacy and ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms
Google Cloud (server hosting, temporary image storage, secret storage and server logs) - cloud.google.com/terms/cloud-privacy-notice
SerpApi (visual web matches and Google Shopping prices) - serpapi.com (see its privacy policy)
Google favicon service (website logos shown in results) - policies.google.com/privacy
Apple App Store (purchases, subscriptions and app distribution) - apple.com/legal/privacy
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with these providers only as needed to run the features you use.
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy:
Photos: not stored by us. They are processed in memory. The only copy we create is the temporary web-match copy, deleted automatically after one day.
Chat messages: not stored by us.
Server logs: kept by Google Cloud for up to about 30 days, then deleted automatically. They contain no photos or chat messages.
Scan history and bookmarks: kept on your device until you delete them or delete the App.
Support emails: kept for up to 12 months after your request is resolved, then deleted.
Data held by Apple, Google (Gemini) and SerpApi is kept according to their own policies (see Section 5).
D Lens has no accounts, so we do not hold a profile about you. You can:
Withdraw your permission for AI processing at any time in the App under Settings, or by deleting the App. After you withdraw, no new photos or messages are sent to AI services.
Delete your scan history and bookmarks at any time inside the App, or by deleting the App.
Ask us what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing brainempowers.apps@yahoo.com. Because we do not keep your photos or messages, there is usually nothing further to delete; the only exception is a temporary web-match copy, which is removed automatically within one day, or support emails you sent us, which we will delete on request. We will respond within 30 days.
Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.
Our legal basis for processing your photos and messages with AI services is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting earlier processing; for subscriptions it is performance of our contract with you; for security, abuse prevention and support it is our legitimate interests. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email brainempowers.apps@yahoo.com.
Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The categories described in Sections 2 and 3 (photos, chat messages, IP address, region and purchase status) are disclosed to the service providers listed in Section 5 for the business purposes described in Section 4. To make a request, email brainempowers.apps@yahoo.com.
D Lens is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable law sets a higher age), is not in the Apple Kids Category, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us information, contact brainempowers.apps@yahoo.com and we will delete it. Please do not upload photos of children.
Before any photo or chat message is sent to a third-party AI service for the first time, D Lens asks for your explicit permission and explains what is sent and to whom. If you decline, nothing is sent and the AI features stay unavailable. You can withdraw your permission at any time as described in Section 7. By choosing to continue using the App after reading this policy, you also agree to its terms.
Our server is hosted in Mumbai, India, and our AI and search providers (Google and SerpApi) may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the App you understand your data may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data protection laws differ from those of your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version is always available at this page with its effective date at the top. We will notify you of material changes through the App or the App Store listing, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again before applying them. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated policy.
We protect your data with reasonable technical and organizational measures: all traffic between the App and our server uses encrypted HTTPS connections, access keys are stored in a managed secret store, the temporary web-match copy uses a random file name and is deleted after one day, and requests are rate-limited to prevent abuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify affected users and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, want to exercise your rights, or want to withdraw consent or request deletion, contact Brainempowers at: brainempowers.apps@yahoo.com
