All presenters are invited to include the DLBCN logo in their slides or posters., available here in a variety of formats and colours.
Your role will be two-fold:
Engage in a conversation with the local chair of your session. Work with your local session chair beforehand to agree on the topics you would like to cover.
Chair the talks in your session (introduce the presenter, control the timing, moderate the questions to the invited speakers). Please read the instructions below to understand the format of the session.
The duration of the talks are 10 minutes (invited talks) or 5 minutes (spotlights). Invited talks will also have extra 5 minutes for Q&A. Spotlights questions will be taken during the next poster session.
Keep in mind that the audience of DLBCN is diverse, do not assume that they are experts in your application field (NLP, vision, statistics, life sciences, audio...). Adapt you talk so that the whole audience can enjoy it. Make sure that the domain-specific terms are introduced.
Send to the local chair of your session a short bio to be read during your presentation. The name of the local and session chairs can be found in the program.
Come to the front of the auditorium 30 minutes for the start of your session to check the set up with the session chair and technical staff. In the case of Session 1, notice this is 9:00am, because Session 1 runs back to back with the keynote.
The slides can be projected in three different ways (only one is needed, others may be useful as back ups):
Share a link to your slides from this form. Formats supported: Google Slides, Microsoft Powerpoint or PDF. (recommended)
Bring your own laptop and connect to the beamer in the auditorium.
The posters should be formatted to A0 dimensions in vertical (portrait) orientation (118.9 x 84.1 cm).
Each poster is numbered. Fix your poster in the board with your matching number.
You are encouraged to set up your poster before the oral session that precedes your poster session. You will find material to attach your poster to the board in the room.
Presenters must present their poster during the session.
Remove your poster after your session.
