I am happy to note that the candidate has tried to understand the deformation problems concerning the constitutive modeling of nonlinear electro-magneto-elastic soft elastomers within the framework of the classical continuum mechanics-based approach. The candidate has covered three broad topics i.e., electro-magnetostriction under large deformation, electro-magneto-mechanical instability, and universal relations in electro-magneto-elasticity. From the fundamentals, his thesis gives an extensive introduction to the topics to be examined here. Extensive formulation derivation is included in the thesis, aiming to capture some interesting phenomena in smart materials, in particular for instability and large deformation."
