President Barbara Mau

Barbara attended Illinois State University to earn a degree in Speech Pathology and Audiologyand completed coursework for certification in teaching students with Learning Disabilitiesbefore beginning a career, working mostly in the public-school setting. A move from centralIllinois to Carbondale in the early 1980s resulted in the opportunity for to her add anendorsement for Teaching English as a Second Language through SIU-C and a transfer of hermembership in Delta Kappa Gamma from Alpha Phi Chapter to Alpha Kappa Chapter.In retirement, she enjoys playing golf, participating in two book clubs, practicing tai chi, andparticipating in DKG in a variety of ways. Her two children live in St. Louis, MO, and Makanda,IL, giving her easy access to participation in the lives of her three granddaughters.
