DKG Alberta – Fall Newsletter 2024 President message
It is hard to believe how quickly time passes – we are already into the second year of the 2023-2025 biennium. Our new Chapter Presidents have been working with their Chapter leaders and members to plan many engaging opportunities.
Alberta was well represented at the 2024 International Convention. Many of us were involved in a variety of capacities – ceremonies, meetings, presenters, running for office, voting, networking… For the coming biennium we have Alberta members represented on a number of International Committees. I wish them well in their endeavors.
Our new International President, Dr. Beverley Hall-Maughan, emphasizes that we move forward with passion and purpose. I agree with her that it is crucial that we streamline and simplify our practices. We need to continue to examine what truly benefits our organization as we move forward together. I truly believe that our heart is at the chapter level. Our Alberta Chapters have many engaging opportunities planned for their members. I am pleased that our chapters are opening up some of their program sessions to other Chapters where technology allows. Zoom and other platforms have certainly allowed us to do more sharing together. We have many members who have unique talents.
Beta Chapter in Calgary is busy planning for hosting our Alberta 2025 Convention to be held April 11-12, 2025. Please mark your Calendars and plan to attend.
Warmly,
Sherrie MacRae, President DKG Alberta
