Another blog from your local launderette servicing Stourport, Kidderminster, Bewdley, and Worcestershire.
The cost of general household bills are constantly rising so it's becoming more common for people to consider using a self service machine at a local laundry provider, like The Dolly Tub, for their washing and drying. This helps save on both utility bills and save on valuable time.
It may sound odd (or extremely familiar!) but whether you've just flown the nest or you've never needed to use a launderette before, most people don't try a coin operated washing/drying machine because they simply don't know where to start.
It's purely what it says on the tin. It's a coin-operated washing machine that allows people to pay for just what they need to wash - and usually in larger loads! We have a range of washing machines to suit your requirements starting from loads of 4kg up to 10kg!
We're a friendly bunch at Dolly's so if you feel you need help or you are stuck with what to do, we're always on hand! We're aware there are some launderettes that aren't manned but we prefer to help our customers with their laundry - whether that's what item to put in with what or you need extra change! We're mainly at the back of the shop doing the ironing for another customer so you can just give us a shout :)
On average, it costs just £4 to wash your laundry at Dolly's. We try to stay as competitive as possible whilst also having the top quality machines available!
1. Before you begin, check that the washing machine or dryer doesn't have any clothes left by the previous user. We try our best to keep on top of this but it's always good to check there isn't a cheeky black sock hiding before you put your whites in!
2. Next, we'd advise that you sort your clothes into separate batches - depending on what suits you. This could be colours separated, bulky items or towels. We are on hand to advise on any items you are unsure of such as certain fabrics. It's also a good idea to get a small mesh bag to put your 'smalls' in so they don't get tangled in with other items!
3. You then need to set the cycle you require. This can be done by operating the buttons or knobs that are found at the front of the machine. Again, it's similar to a standard washing machine but if you need help, give us a shout.
4. Add the detergent and, if required, softner.
5. Add your coins to suit the wash load (we can help!) and finally, close the cover of the machine and press Start.
There are several advantages :
1. Save The Environment
The machines generally use much less water and energy than a standard washing machine.
2. Save Your Time
The machines are big enough to hold large amounts of laundry and this takes a much shorter time as compared to using a household washing machine.
3. Assistance On Hand
Dolly's is a manned launderette so we are there should you need help with your washing (for example, how do you get that stubborn stain out?!)
4. Less Mix Ups
When you do the laundry you avoid clothes mix ups and actually get to do your laundry exactly as you like it.
We hope this blog has helped, but if you require further information on the self service machines or our other services, please feel free to contact us!
