Artificial pumpkin decorating started for me in January 2015 when the officers of one of my daughters dance team decided that each senior needed to decorate a pumpkin decorated with her name on it. These pumpkins were to be included as part of the decorations for an annual school dance. Different groups of girls were assigned a different color pumpkin. If you were to decorate a white pumpkin, it was to be decorated with silver. Not knowing where to start, my daughter and one of her friends asked me if I would decorate their pumpkins. Never shying away from a creative project, I agreed. My next two artificial pumpkins that I decorated didn't come for four more years when I wanted a unique gift for a friend who loves Sugar Skulls. I used leftovers from that pumpkin and decorated a second one. In 2020, I decided to create another Sugar Skull pumpkin along with six more. In 2021, I skipped the Sugar Skull pumpkin, but I created 10 decorated pumpkins and used leftovers to fill three decorative baskets. 2022 was the last year I decorated pumpkins because 2023 was spent reducing inventory, supplies, and materials, in preparation for our move to Spain. But in 2022, I created eleven decorated pumpkins including another Sugar Skull. When we get settled into our new home, I may begin decorating pumpkins again.
