Though Covid-19 has forced closures, cancellations, and changes of plans, the arts are persevering. Artists are still creating, and now more than ever is the time to shine the spotlight on the unique and special artists in our arts community. While strides have been made towards inclusion, there is still a ways to go to remove the stigma surrounding disabilities. Being different than the perceived norm doesn't mean that someone is less capable, less creative, or less talented.
This project is being created as part of a Masters degree through the LEAP program at Colorado State University, and will be used for educational purposes, as well as for a stepping stone for future community engagement work. Even though many artists post their work to their own profiles, the hope is to create a hub for many works to be seen at once. All art forms are welcome!
Zoe Settle is an actress and teaching artist currently based in Dallas. Zoe is earning her M.A. in Arts Leadership and Cultural Management from the Arts Management program at Colorado State University and received her B.F.A. in Acting from Oklahoma City University with minors in directing and design & production. In addition to pursuing her passion for performing, Zoe has the privilege to teach art and theater to students all around the DFW area with organizations such as Junior Players, Drama Kids International, Studio B, Acting Studio, and Rockwall Community Playhouse.
Zoe has interned with Texans for the Arts, the local arts advocacy organization, since May 2020, and has frontline experience helping the arts begin to recover from the impact of COVID-19. Getting to work with arts organizations from all around the state has only broadened her desire to fight for the arts. After completing her graduate degree, Zoe will expand upon her work as a teacher to increase the number of opportunities for everyone to engage with the arts. Zoe has a broad array of interests and they have always lived under the umbrella of the arts. After developing her voice in the arts for many years, she now intends to use it to the fullest extent, while doing everything she can to help others find their voices as well.
