Following the women's breakfast held during the History of Economics Society (HES) conference in Chicago in 2018, an ad hoc HES committee conducted a survey on diversity in the field of the history of economics. A report circulated in June 2019. After receiving different answers to the survey, and discussions with participants at the diversity lunch during the HES conference in New York 2019, we decided to create the Diversity Caucus during our first meeting July 7, 2020.
The Caucus is independent of any societies and opened to all.
