Summary

In "The Diversity Among Us," students came to understand the concept of diversity and its importance through a sequence of mini-lectures and diversity-focused icebreaker activities. The mini-lectures provided students with the necessary background knowledge about diversity in order to understand it as a concept. At the same time, the diversity-focused icebreaker activities allowed students to see how individuals (including themselves) actually create this oftentimes abstract concept of "diversity" in a space. In addition, students came away from the lesson feeling more comfortable with and connected to their COR 101 classmates.
