The following examples of harassment are intended to be guidelines and are not exclusive when determining whether there has been a violation of this policy:

  • comments that are offensive or unwelcome regarding a person's national origin, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, body, disability or appearance, including epithets, slurs and negative stereotyping.

  • display or discussion of any written or graphic material that ridicules, denigrates, insults, belittles or shows hostility, aversion or disrespect toward an individual or group because of national origin, race, color, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy, appearance, disability, sexual identity, marital status or other protected status.

If you experience or are a witness to any behavior that makes you uncomfortable and could fit any of the definitions above, please do not hesitate to reach out to the DivBookFest team and report it via one of the following ways:

If you have reported harassment and would like additional support/security, staff will do everything in their power to escort you to a safe and secure place.

COVID-19 SAFETY POLICY

DivBookFest is committed to creating and maintaining a space that complies with COVID & Public Health protocols to ensure the health of all attendees, volunteers, and authors! By attending DivBookFest, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, and agree to follow the DivBookFest guidelines.

Masking

We require that ALL attendees 2 years old and up wear a well-fitting mask that consistently and correctly reduces the risk of spreading the virus that causes COVID-19 both inside and outside. Including but not limited to while at panels, in signing lines, at festival bookstore. Universal indoor mask use is recommended at a high COVID-19 Community Level per the CDC. We will have masks available at the festival check-in if you require one.

Washing Hands

We request that attendees wash their hands when applicable. If you are going to interact with other attendees or authors, we ask that you ensure your hands have been washed or sanitized (hand sanitizer will be available throughout the festival)

Vaccination or Negative COVID-19 Test

For the safety of our authors and other attendees we highly encourage all attendees to either get vaccinated or take a COVID-19 test prior to the event (PCR test within 72 hours or rapid antigen test within 24 hours). You can receive an at-home rapid antigen test for FREE via https://www.covid.gov/

IF YOU FEEL SICK, please stay home. We are sorry that you might miss the festival, but we are going to do our best to make some of our panels accessible to readers who might not be able to attend in-person due to a variety of reasons.
