Middle School District Chorus Auditions

All-District Chorus provides students of outstanding talent and musical skill an opportunity to sing together in a fine choral group directed by an outstanding guest choral conductor. Generally, this event is scheduled during the second weekend in February.

Any student enrolled in a 6-8th grade choral/vocal music performance organization as recognized by the school division (performance-based ensemble within the school curriculum), and who is recommended by the director of that organization, is eligible to audition for All-District Chorus.

Audition includes:

• My Country Tis of Thee (accompanied) and major scale (unaccompanied)
  • Soprano - Key of Eb
  • Alto - Key of C
  • Tenor - Key of F
  • Bass - Key of C
• Sightreading
  • 8 measures Do to Sol
  • Quarter notes and rests, Half notes and rests, Whole note
  • Students will be given I,IV,V,I and then Do
  • 30 seconds to look over sightreading - can sing, clap, solfege out loud
