EnviFdApp
Environment Controller Federate Application (EnviFdApp) 4.0.1
EnviFdApp is designed to control the environmental (i.e., sea) effects (e.g., sea state and waves) and the atmospheric (i.e., weather) effects (e.g., fog, wind, and time of day) in the virtual environment. It is used interactively during the federation execution and at any time it can be used to control the environmental parameters by a simulation trainer. This federate is also designed to handle GIS server-federation communications for further studies.
Major Features
- It broadcasts weather reports to the entities in the virtual environment at scheduled intervals specified in the scenario file.
- It enables the user to control the virtual environment
Atmospheric Effects
Fog Status (FS):
User can change fog type (e.g., linear and exponential fog) and minimum and maximum fog range
Time of Day (TOD):
User can set the time of day for the virtual environment
Wind Status (WiS):
The wind direction and wind speed can be set.
Cloud Density:
Four classes of cloud density is possible.
Environmental Effects
Sea State (SS):
A sea state represents a predefined configuration for the wave, wind, and cloud, the sky, all of which varies according to the virtual environment weather conditions (e.g., cloudy, clear sky).
Wave State (WaS):
User can set the sea state and can select four different types of waves at the same time, the behavior of waves by configuring direction, speed, length, amplitude, and exponential properties of a wave.
