If you are a parent struggling to juggle your needs and your children’s needs during this pandemic, apply within to be connected with a distance learning coordinator and a set of families to engage in distance learning circles in your home or in the home of a host family. Full-time or part-time care can be provided based on need.
The structure of the distance learning circles are as follows:
For every distance learning leader there will be a total of 4 children per leader. The grades will be grouped together following the format of K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6-8th in each circle. High school students can apply for tutors to help them with distance learning, for transportation to participate in extracurricular activities and in home extracurricular activities. One child in every circle will be subsidized due to low income status to accommodate for a balanced system where no child is left without access to an adequate learning environment that fosters their childhood development.
The purpose of the application process is to ensure we are providing the best outcomes for everyone involved, and personalizing as much as we can while accommodating for safety precautions, guidelines, school and parental schedules, mental wellness and a valuable dynamic that meets everyone’s needs. There will be basic guidelines put in place to reduce everyone’s risk according to evolving CDC guidelines and we will proceed through this with respect to what is safest to stay within the circles. Expectations for any precautions to be taken beyond the evolving CDC guidelines can be matched per the criteria in the applications and during the interview process. There will be contracts to sign after the interviews are conducted and a verbal agreement is made by the adults in the circle to ensure everyone has the same understanding of expectations and responsibilities. Each contract will vary to allow for flexibility based on individual needs.
For anyone that is just looking to match with other families and is not in need of a distance learning coordinator, please use this form. Application for social circles
