Disk Usage ((BETTER)) Download Steam

I'm currently installing a pretty big game, 130 gigabytes, and I've noticed that my disk usage is very low on steam despite being at 100% in task manager. The speed goes between 100B/s to about 15MB/s, but it's usually lower than 5MB/s.

I have a HDD, so it's not too surprising that it isn't very fast, but it's kind of ridiculous that it goes so low most of the time. I've also disabled most programs that use even 0.1% of my disk, and I've also tried changing steam's priority in task manager.

When downloading games on steam or epic games the disk usage stays at 100% and download eventually comes to a crawl. Tried everything. Drivers are up to date. Turned it off and on. Took it to best buy as well, they couldn't fix it. Hopefully someone on here can help.

Sorry this might be a better picture, I have 590 GB free on my ssd. I never ran into this problem with my old pc so not sure why its happening now. In addition, steam will automatically update or download things while I am playing a game and my computer will blue screen.

Yeah steam will download updates while playing games which tanks performance and blue screens on occasion so I might switch for the samsung 970 evo in that case. Thoughts? Btw thanks for all the help I appreciate it!

Sometimes restarting your router or unplugging/plugging back your LAN cable will solve the problem. This will essentially make your internet connection reset and can mitigate any problems it initially had, solving the slow disk usage issues in the process.

So This is related to my other issue but way bigger. Each Time I re ran the Installer in Wine It would eat up another chunk of diskspace and not show any files in the folder I installed it to, and kept happening till! I installed it to the default Wine directory. I dont know how to free up this hard drive space. Is there something I can do?

Thank you for the response, I do have my hidden directories shown, since im poking around in ./steam ./wine ./local. It confuses me because everything I do to ./steam is copied to ./local but maybe the two just go to the same place.
