What is Dishcovery?

Dishcovery is your intelligent cooking companion that helps you discover recipes, save favorites, generate shopping lists, and explore dishes using powerful features like Randomizer, Kitchen Inventory, and Request a Recipe.

How to Create an Account

Open the app
Tap Sign Up
Enter your email and password
Sign using Google or Apple account
Start exploring recipes!

Navigation Overview

Home: Browse all recipes and suggestions
Randomizer: Let Dishcovery choose a meal for you
Shopping List: Build, edit and manage multiple lists
Favorites: Save dishes for quick access
Reviews: Add your comments and reviews to the recipes and upload your own images
Leaderboard: Join the chef leaderboard by marking the recipes you made
Nutrition facts: Check the nutrition facts for each recipe.
Profile & Settings: Manage your account and app preferences

Using “Request a Recipe” Feature

How to Use It

Navigate to Request a Recipe
Enter the dish name or describe what you want
Add any specifics (ingredients, dietary needs, cuisine, etc.)
Tap Submit
A new recipe will be generated and added to your library

Examples of Requests:

“Healthy chicken pasta with no dairy”
“Lebanese breakfast with eggs and tomatoes”
“Gluten-free dessert easy to bake”

Adding Recipes to Favorites

What Are Favorites?

Favorites allow you to bookmark recipes so you can find them quickly.

How to Add a Recipe to Favorites

Open any recipe
Tap the heart icon ❤
The recipe is now saved in your Favorites page

How to Remove a Favorite

Go to Favorites
Tap the heart icon again
The recipe will be removed from the list

Helps you plan meals during the week
Works great with Shopping Lists

Creating and Managing Shopping Lists

Create a New Shopping List

Open the Shopping List page
Tap Create New List
Enter a name (ex: “Weekly Groceries”, “BBQ Party”)
Start adding items

Add Ingredients to a Shopping List

From any recipe:

Tap Add to Shopping List
Choose an existing list or create a new one
Ingredients will be added instantly

Edit Items

Tap any ingredient to rename or change quantity
Swipe left to delete an individual item
Tap the checkbox to mark an item as purchased

Manage Multiple Lists

Dishcovery supports unlimited lists for:

Different stores
Events
Weekly planning
Special cuisines

Troubleshooting Common Issues

App Not Saving Favorites

Ensure you are logged in
Check internet connection
Restart the app

Shopping List Not Syncing

Verify you pressed Save
Check if you’re on the latest app version
Try logging out and back in

Randomizer Not Working

Clear filters
Check that you have recipes downloaded
Restart the app

Request a Recipe Not Generating

Make sure your description is clear
Retry (sometimes load delays occur)
