HISTORY OF KABA KABA VILLAGE
Kaba Kaba Village was established in the 14th century, around 1343, by a Majapahit nobleman named Sira Arya Blog. He arrived in Bali together with seven other Arya nobles as part of Majapahit’s mission to unite the islands of the Nusantara. At that time, the Majapahit Kingdom was ruled by King Hayam Wuruk, who was assisted by the powerful Prime Minister, Gajah Mada.
Gajah Mada is well known for his famous oath, known as the Amukti Palapa oath, in which he vowed to abstain from consuming seasoned food until he succeeded in unifying the entire Nusantara under the authority of the Majapahit Kingdom.
Kaba Kaba later became one of the regions under the influence of the Majapahit Kingdom. The area was governed by a trusted Majapahit nobleman named Sira Arya Pudak Sari, who was also known as Sira Arya Blog. The title “Blog,” which literally refers to “large eyes,” symbolized his reputed ability to foresee or predict events and situations that might occur in the future.
During the development of the Kaba Kaba kingdom, the ruler was blessed with a son who was expected to embody strong and resilient qualities, both physically and mentally. Because of these characteristics, the name Kabakaba was associated with firmness and strength. This name was eventually immortalized and used as the name of the kingdom itself, the Kingdom of Kaba-Kaba. One of the descendants of Arya Blog was Sira Arya Anglurah Kabakaba, who was recorded in historical accounts around the year 1360.
