Learn how to do some basic hula moves and an easy dance to teach your troop. Great way to get your troop moving and learning about another culture. All levels welcome!

209 Cardboard Carnival STEAM Challenge

Enter Karen’s stem lab and makery for a fun craft and engineering challenge. Design and build your own cardboard carnival games that really work.

210 Stomp Rockets

It's rocket science! Build your own rocket and launcher using everyday objects. Jump in with two feet and send your rocket sky high! **WARNING** Giggles and whoops of joy will occur.

Session 2: Outdoor

213 Taking Your Troop Backpacking

If you would like to look into backpacking with your troop, and give your girls a unique opportunity to build confidence and appreciation of our outdoor treasures, then this introduction is for you. We will look at steps leading up to backpacking readiness (especially for younger troops, but also for older “newbies”), as well as planning and preparing for backpacking adventures. We will touch on logistics, needed skills, basic gear and some great destinations, and will provide some resources to build on the introduction. Also appropriate for backpacking adults who want to review Girl Scout guidelines and the different logistics inherent in taking out a group of girls.

This does not substitute for the backpacking training course.

214 Basic Knots

Learn to tie 9 Basic Knots, when and where to use them, and how to teach them to your troop! Learn how to whip the ends of your rope to keep it from unraveling. These knots can help keep sleeping bags and duffle bags from "exploding," tie a rope between two trees to hang dunk bags or towels, start lashing, macrame and friendship bracelets, turn a tarp into an emergency shelter, secure a boat or a horse, and other handy uses!

215 BLOOM! Creating Boutique Flowers

Crepe-paper flowers capture the essence of flowers while being very versatile. Their whimsy makes them not only a pleasure to behold, but also an enjoyable project to undertake. We will make dramatic grand flowers, dahlia-like pom-poms and lovely garlands. Great troop craft - use for decorating, gifts or just for fun!

216 Cake Decorating with Elizabeth Taylor

Have you ever wanted to decorate cakes or cupcakes for yourself or family and friends? Do your Girl Scouts want to earn any baking/ decorating patches? Maybe sponsor a nailed it challenge? I will show you the basics of fondant and buttercream cake and cupcake decorating and how much fun it could be. Come have fun with me and enjoy the sweet treat you decorated!

Come and play in your own magical fairytale. Create a fairy garden from recycled pottery/china pieces. Make a lighted fairy house (STEAM activity).

218 Native American Accessories

The beauty of Native American Arts is undeniable. In this workshop, you will learn to craft and make both a beaded choker-style necklace and a "dancing feather" that is worn as a hair ornament during ceremonial dances. Full instructions, a materials list, and history are provided, as well as materials you will use to make full color examples.

219 SWAPS

SWAPS are "Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere". The tradition of Girl Scouts exchanging keepsakes started long ago when Girl Scouts and Girl Guides first gathered for fun, song, and making new friends. Come and learn SWAPs etiquette and a whole slew of ideas of SWAPs to make with all levels of girls.

220 Ukrainian Eggs

This beautiful art has been handed down through generations of Ukrainians for more than 2,000 years! Come learn all the techniques to create your own pysanky egg.

221 Permanent Marker Tie Dye

We will demonstrate simple quick tie-dye activities for troop meetings, events, and camping, These can be done on tiles, bags, bandanas, t-shirts using just permanent markers and rubbing alcohol. We will make coasters on tiles and a bandana using this method of tie-dying. These are great for gifts or troop identifiers.

Use your woodworking skills to sand, build, stain and finish your own tabletop indoor/outdoor S’MORE Maker.

And for S’MORE fun, you will make and enjoy an afternoon S’MORE snack.

Take a session of free time! Visit the council shop on-site, find a table and meet with your friends. Check your social media feed (don't forget to #discoveree2023).
