This Night Shift history was written by "Diskey River."
Sometime late 2004 an Innova Production employee who was working the Nightshift decided to experiment by making a run of Orcs with some combination of the only 2 premium plastics available at Innova at the time; Champion & Pro plastics. The discs produced would come to be known as 1st Generation Nightshift Orcs. They were made in Red, Yellow, Teal & Blue in that order of rarity with just a handful of transitional Greens. All have the preflight number Champion Stock Stamp of the time. Although it was rumored Innova was very upset with the employee for producing the concoction without permission they loved how the discs turned out & tweaked the plastic combo until it was perfected & Star Plastic was born! Most were given to Team Members to try out. Dave Feldberg loved the feel and durability of the new plastic so much he commissioned to have a small run of Sidewinders made with the same plastic concoction just for him. Rumored to be only about 55 total made, all are Red with either a Flat Silver or Silver Shatter preflight Champion Stock Stamp.

Fast forward to 2008. Star Plastic had taken off and Innova looked to capitalize on the lore of the Nightshift. They produced a small run of discs commonly referred to as 2nd Generation Nightshift. All 2nd Generation Nightshift discs are Blue and were Sold on the DiscGolfValues website. There were 244 each of Orcs (all with the preflight number DX Stamp of the time), Bosses & Destroyers (all with either Mini Proto Star or Mini Barstsmps)!
