Below is my curated collection containing some my past works. Feel free to browse.
My largest concurrent project to date, this is the culmination of all of my story-writing, world building, 3D modelling, animation, and digital painting skills.
Taking place far from their true home, monkeys with turn-of-the-century technology must fight off an inter-dimensional invader from their planet.
Inspired by real world history and the games 'Bloons Tower defense' versions 1-6.
"Breaks in the clouds illuminate trenches; lined with barbed wire and dart-shooting machine guns. Monkey soldiers armed with darts or glue shooting weapons peek out from behind bombed out buildings or dead trees. A uniform, wall of shadow emerges from the distant fog... the silence is broken by loud cracking of artillery shells hitting the ground, followed only by the piercing cry of the trench whistle; signalling imminent attack."
This project is planned to continue until I can produce a short film, most likely 10-13 minutes long; showcasing all of my modelling and animation skills, as well as my storytelling and cinematographic abilities.
When I watched my friend play Xenonauts and I instantly fell in love with it, I admire the gritty atmosphere and the realistic portrayal of an alien invasion. I wanted to pay tribute to this game by making a small animation, setting it near where I grew up; just for fun. I used an online model of a real-life F-16 fighter and modified the textures and some areas of the model to resemble the plane that the Xenonauts use to intercept UFOs; the F-17 Condor. The green missiles on the wing mounts are Alenium missiles, harnessed alien technology capable of downing medium alien craft. For the alien ship, I modeled and textured the alien Corvette from the game, it is capable of traveling at 1,400 km/h with fast and dangerous plasma weaponry.
This game holds a strangely special place in my heart. It is an old real-time strategy game based on an ancient strategy game, Total Annihilation. I just animated a few sequences for fun. I think they turned out well. In the end they turned out to be practice projects, as my life took a couple hits during this time and I took a break from creating things.
I have spent many nights playing this game, and my skill isn't the thing that keeps me playing (I suck at this game), but the the community of players and developers. Its so refreshing and unique to see a game of its age still being balanced and updated, not many of its time can say the same.
These two animations on the left show off one of the superweapons and its destructive power, a massive artillery piece called "Big Bertha". It can aim across the battlefield and fire a devastating plasma round to atomize its targets, in the game it does not cause a nuclear explosion, but I thought it was fitting so I used my creative liberties to make the impact seem absolutely gruesome.
This animation features a drop ship navigating around wreckage and the rings of a desolate moon, dropping off two commanders. I love how empty and dreadful the space around it feels.
Based on the early 2000's animated TV Show (The Zeta Project), I modeled each of the main characters in my style. I had a lot of fun playing around with these rigs and the materials, I tried to emulate an early CGI feel to go with the show being released when 3D was a bit primitive; maybe in my head I imagined if the show would have been more popular it could have had more of a lifespan instead of being cancelled after two seasons. Don't get me wrong, those two seasons were really good but there were a lot of loose ends that I wish I could have seen tied up, oh well. Using the power of Blender and Premier Pro, I am able to enjoy these characters once more, and you can too.
