I am an aspiring artist and 3d generalist, always working to make my next project even better, technically and artistically.
I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. I have been making art every chance I could, every piece of schoolwork that crossed my path would be covered in sketches. Almost as long as I have been drawing, I have been watching old movies and wanting to replicate their special effects in my own projects.
In 2019, I created a stop motion animation about wooden drawing figures and plastic toys coming to life and dancing to Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. I entered my animation in the LAFFF youth film competition and won first place in the animation category. I rushed my animation, and I knew I could do better next time.
During lockdown, I found out that the film competition was still happening, and I wanted to enter. I found out about it 14 days until the due date, so I had to hurry. I created my 3d animated short "Last Man Standing", following a robot living in an empty bunker performing his tasks, while his human creators have long since perished. I came up with the idea while listening to the song I ended up using in the animation, Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt. I entered my work into the same film festival as the year before, and it placed first in the animation category. This really showed me that I might be able to actually do something with my art, I have not stopped trying to improve and work on my skills.
Now, I am working on projects that can improve my skills... or are just really fun to make.
