QMUL Research Assistant Position in AI for Healthcare 2026

I am looking to recruit a Research Assistant to join my research group at Queen Mary University of London for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to a further three years.


About the Role

The postholder will undertake research at the intersection of Multimodal AI and Healthcare, contributing to the development and evaluation of advanced AI methodologies for clinical decision support. The role will involve designing and implementing machine learning and deep learning models (including LLMs/VLMs and foundation models), working with large-scale clinical data, conducting experimental evaluation and validation, developing research software and contributing to high-quality publications in leading international venues.

 

About You

Candidates must have an Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related topic. A PhD degree in AI or a related topic is desirable. The successful candidate must possess expertise in Machine Learning, or Deep Learning, or Multimodal AI, or Foundation Models, or related AI methodologies. The successful candidate must have a good understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep neural networks, model evaluation and validation, experimental design and the development of AI systems.
