Dilan Yang (Kristen)

Hi there! I am a PhD in Economics candidate at Nuffield College, University of Oxford. 

My research lies in development, innovation and political economy. I am interested in three interconnected areas of research: 

• The interaction between the state and the market, especially related to industrial policy in structural transformation of developing countries.

• How bureaucratic institutions shape incentives of bureaucrats and how they affect state-market interactions.

• Innovation, entrepreneurship and the socioeconomic consequences of AI. 

I am associated with Industrial Policy Group and Center of the Studies of African Economies (CSAE). I previously graduated from Schwarzman College with a Masters in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University, and a BA in Economics at University of Cambridge.
