I love them so. But the truth is, domestic cats are a recognized threat to global biodiversity. In fact, they’ve contributed to the extinction of 63 species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. An Australian study showed that each feral cat kills about 225 reptiles per year — adding up to a staggering 1 million reptiles every single day.

But cats themselves pay a price, too. Outdoor cats live shorter lives. They face cars, dogs, coyotes, cruel humans, and a whole range of parasites and diseases. Every major animal welfare organization agrees: indoor is better. And TNR doesn't cut it. 

But here’s the good news: being safe doesn’t have to be boring.
