The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is finally here . This thing is an absolute beast, and it has been the most requested device to cover on the website.
Let's go ahead, get it unboxed and see what it has to offer. So inside the box, as well as the device, you do get a USB type A to USB type C cable, a 67-watt charger, included out of the box. As well as that, there's a SIM card too, some paperwork, a clear case, and a USB type C to 3.5-millimeter headphone adapter.
And let's get to the device. All right, holy camera module, this thing is thick. I don't think I've seen bigger camera module in my life. This thing literally takes up the whole top of the device, and it is quite a bit of a camera bump as well. Well, I guess one advantage of the camera module is that it's not going to rock when it's on the table, 'cause it just literally takes up the full back section, that is insane.
So we'll talk about the cameras in a little bit, let's initially take a look at the display. So we've got an in-display fingerprint scanner. This is a 6.81-inch super AMOLED display with a Quad HD plus resolution, 120 Hertz refresh rate, 480 Hertz touch sampling rate, and it has a peak brightness of 1700 nits, which makes this, I believe, the brightest smartphone display on the market right now. I think the S21 Ultra is around 1500 nits, so this just takes it a step above. Which is perfect for me because, you know, these.
Now we've got Gorilla Glass Victus, and it is a curved display, it kind of curves in from all of the edges. Pretty small bezels with a punch out for the selfie camera. Now the selfie camera is 20 megapixels, but you may not be using it as much because we actually have a rear display as well to help you take your selfies.
So within this humongous camera module at the back, you do have a 1.1-inch AMOLED display, and this is an always-on display, so it can show you things like the time and notifications. But if you do want to take selfies using the rear-facing cameras, which are obviously much better in quality, then this can also be used as a viewfinder.
So I've just switched on the rear display, and it's actually pretty cool 'cause I can just take selfies using the Volume Down key. So when you can, it's actually pretty clear, this small display. What's also really cool about this display is that you can use multiple cameras. So if you do want to use the ultra wide and get lots of people in for a group shot, then you'll be able to do that and still be able to see yourself.
So I really do like this rear display. Right, now let's talk about the cameras. So we have a 50-megapixel primary camera, and this is using the new Samsung GN2 sensor, which is 1 over 1.2 inches. That makes it the largest smartphone sensor on the market right now, quite impressive here.
We then have a 48-megapixel ultra wide camera with a 128-degree angle of view. This is using the Sony IMX586 sensor, and then the periscope zoom camera is also using the Sony IMX586 sensor.
This will give you five times optical zoom, 10 times hybrid zoom, and Xiaomi is saying up
to 120 times digital zoom, so it looks like they're trying to get a one-up on Samsung with the 100x zoom, but I'm not sure how well it will do, considering the optical zoom range is just five times, so that's going to be quite a bit of digital zoom, whereas something like the S21 Ultra does have 10 times optical zoom.
So I would assume that will give you better results at around 100 times, although I don't use 100x much. Definitely let me know in the comments below if you'd like me to do a SuperSaf style camera comparison of this versus the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, or another device.
Right, now let's take a look around the device. We do have a metal frame, Gorilla Glass Victus at the front as mentioned, but we've got a ceramic back, so this is the ceramic white, there is also a ceramic black version available.
So it definitely looks and feels very premium, but it is quite a heavy device. I mean, the weight distribution isn't bad, but I can't help but notice that very big camera module at the top. On the right-hand side we've got a power button as well as a volume rocker.
Nothing on the left-hand side. At the top it looks like we've got an IR blaster, as well as one of the two speakers, so we've got one at the top and one at the bottom. Now these speakers have sound by Harman Kardon and have a powerful custom super linear speaker unit.
And Xiaomi have said that this has the loudest speakers in the market. Let's go ahead and test that out. So I've got some royalty-free music, so I don't get sued. Let's test this out at max volume.
That's definitely loud. Also at the bottom we've got a USB type C port, as well as the SIM card tray. Now internally, this is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chip set, we've got 12 gigabytes of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 gigabytes of UFS 3.1 storage, so it's right up there in terms of the specs.
For software, we do have Android 11 with MIUI on top. And for the battery, we've got a pretty big 5,000 milliamp hour battery. Now remember, we've got 67-watt wire charging, which is included out of the box, but on top of that we also have 67-watt wireless charging.
Now that is the fastest wireless charging in the market right now, and Xiaomi have said that there's virtually no difference in terms of speed between the wired and wireless charging, and you can get a full charge on that 5,000 milliamp hour battery in around 36 minutes.
Now, of course you will have to buy a 67-watt wireless charger separately which can output that level of power, and you also have 10-watt reverse wireless charging, which, again, is pretty fast compared to lots of the other competition, if you do want to charge something on the back of the Mi 11 Ultra.
Now for pricing, I only have the European pricing, which is around 1200 euros. Puts it quite in line with other flagships like the S21 Ultra. And that is the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. It's definitely a beast of a phone. I'm still not quite sure how I feel about this massive camera bump and camera module, although I really do like this rear display and I can't wait to test these cameras out a little bit more.
Before launch Details
The xiaomi mi 11 pro and the mi 11 ultra are finally upon us and i'll be sharing the details right after this!
So today we've got plenty to cover on the mi 11 ultra and the mi 11 pro including their specs design and the official launch before we get started though please like the video if you're a fan of xiaomi and let me know in the comments what country you're actually watching today's video from.
So first of all when it comes to the launch date xiaomi have officially confirmed and released a teaser poster that says it's going to be the 29th of march although the poster does not mention any devices specifically we also had a weibo post from xiaomi and this tells us it's going to include the mi 11 pro and the mi 11 ultra we've also since then had another poster which confirms these details as well now funnily enough there hasn't been any mention of the mi 11 lite that we're also expecting to see at this event but maybe it's just the spotlight is being saved for the premium versions and they're still gonna also release the light when it comes to the xiaomi mi 11 ultra we've already had all of the leaks that we need after receiving the full hands-on video that we went through in my previous video
The mi 11 ultra is of course a very premium phone with premium specs and a different approach than normal for those that haven't seen it the biggest change from the standard mi 11 is of course a huge camera module with a triple camera setup consisting of a 50 plus 48 plus 48 megapixel setup and it's got a viewfinder on the back that allows you to take pictures with these rear cameras and actually see what you're taking now when it comes to the me11 pro however leaks have been a little light on the ground we had a leak from Ben Geskin back in january and this showed us what he thinks the pro is going to look like but we still haven't had any live photos whatsoever it is thought however that it's going to be similar to the standard mi 11 but the mi 11 pro is going to have a different camera module on the rear the xiaomi mi 11 pro is reportedly coming with a quad camera setup consisting of a 50 megapixel primary a 13 megapixel ultra wide a 5 megapixel macro camera and a telephoto with up to 120 times zoom.
These are still rumors at the moment and while i think there may be a telephoto in this setup it's going to be interesting to see if it does have 120 times or if that saved for the ultra only so whatever your budget is it seems that there is a xiaomi mi 11 to suit whether it's the light the standard the pro or the ultra the mi 11 launch is finally upon us and for those of you that have been patiently waiting you'll shortly be able to get your pre-orders in we've already had plenty of information about each device way ahead of its launch so we're now going to run through the full specs design and the expected pricing for the mi 11 lite the mi 11 pro and the mi 11 ultra so to start with we have the mi 11 lite with the xiaomi mi 11 lite we get a 6.67 inch 120 hertz display we're expecting a full hd plus resolution of 1080 by 2400 and there's no in-display fingerprint scanner as it's going to be mounted on the side we've got a punctual selfie camera on the front and this is reportedly going to be a 16 megapixel wide angle camera.
On the rear we've got a triple camera setup consisting of a 64 megapixel wide angle as the main an 8 megapixel ultra wide and a 5 megapixel macro the phone is reportedly going to be powered by the snapdragon 775g we're expecting six gigs of ram with a choice of 64 or 128 storage and judging by previous releases we should also see an 8 gig of ram version with 256 storage the mi 11 lite is powered by a 4 150 milliamp hour battery and fast charging is still unknown but hopefully it will be close to the 55 watt that we get on the me11 it will of course ship with android 11 based on miui 12 when it comes to the pricing we haven't had any leaks yet but judging by previous releases we can expect it to arrive at about 400 which is roughly 300 pounds next up we've got the mi 11 pro.
So with the xiaomi mi 11 pro we get a 6.81 inch 120 hertz ammo led display we don't have exact resolutions just yet but it's likely to be a quad hd plus resolution of about 1440 by 3200 and it will have an in-display fingerprint scanner we're going to punch your selfie camera on the front and this is going to be a 20 megapixel camera on the rear we've got a large camera module that houses a quad camera setup and an led flash now the cameras here consist of a 50 megapixel primary a 13 megapixel ultra wide a 5 megapixel macro and a telephoto the phones can be powered by the latest snapdragon 888 system on chip.
When it comes to ram and storage we haven't had any leaks yet but expect it to have 8 or 12 gigabytes of ram with 256 storage the mi 11 pro is powered by a 5 000 milliamp hour battery with 67 watt fast charging for both wired and wireless it will of course come with android 11 based on miui 12 and the phone will of course be ip68 water resistant. When it comes to pricing we haven't had any leaks just yet and we're also unsure of what markets it's going to be launched in but i'm going to predict a price of about 850 to 900 now next up we've got the xiaomi mi 11 ultra.
So with the xiaomi mi 11 ultra we get a 6.8 inch hertz oled display we don't have the exact resolutions just yet but we know it's going to be a quad hd plus resolution at 120 hertz and it's also gonna have an in-display fingerprint scanner we've got a punch whole selfie camera on the front and this can be a 20 megapixel camera. On the rear we've got one of the largest camera modules we've ever seen and this houses a triple camera setup along with an led flash and the additional viewfinder display the camera consists of a 50 megapixel primary a 48 megapixel wide angle and a 48 megapixel periscope Camera.
The phone is powered up by the latest snapdragon 888 system on chip when it comes to ram and storage we haven't had any leaks yet but we can expect variants ranging from 12 to 16 gigabytes of ram and 128 to 512 storage the xiaomi mi 11 ultra is powered by a 5 000 milliamp hour battery with 67 watt fast charging for both wired and wireless and it will of course come with android 11 based on miui 12.
The phone is ip68 water resistant and it also comes with harman kardon dual speakers for those that do care about their audio and when it comes to pricing we haven't had any leaks yet and we're also unsure of what markets it's going to be launched in but expect a price of around one thousand dollars. So we've got a nice selection to choose from now and as always the great thing about xiaomi devices is their competitive pricing whether it's the mi 11 lite or the mi 11 ultra that you want they're generally priced much lower than the competition as always though i'd like to know your thoughts in the comments so who out there is waiting for the new xiaomi mi 11 and you're waiting for the light the pro or the ultra
