Thank you to all who joined the Digital Frontiers Conference!
Duke Cyber's Digital Frontiers Conference brought together ~80 people at the Sanford School of Public Policy on February 27th, 2026, for a day of programming around AI governance, including four panels, a networking lunch, and a keynote by General C.Q. Brown, Jr.Â
"AI regulation doesn’t have to start from an organizational level, but the main core is at the individual level."
"AI is always in a state of development."
"Effective AI governance depends less on abstract principles and more on building trusted institutions, clear accountability structures, and operational standards that can keep pace with the speed and scale of technological change."
"In any technology or advanced issues, it's often the human element that causes success or failure."
"Agentic systems pose significant risks around access, security, and control. Writing and speaking skills are maintaining their relevance in today's fast changing and digital world."
