My name is Oliver Ellett and for my FMP I wanted to do something somewhat personal to me, which is where I got the idea of doing it about being an introvert from. Below, you can see some of my work from my FMP, plus my 2025 Showreel
During my time in this course, I have learned a lot of camera techniques and editing techniques that have then allowed me to improve my creations over this past year. From simple things like camera angles all the way up to colour grading, this course has allowed me to learn many different things.
My name is Corey Dyble and for my FMP, I decided to do a documentary style video on Six's Identity from the Gaming Franchise Little Nightmares using themes of trauma and horrifying encounters to showcase Six's shifting identity. Below you'll be able to see my FMP, My Best Poster and My Show reel showcasing my FMP and posters made throughout the course. During this course i have expanded my knowledge and skill with editing footage, creating footage and making plenty of posters and montages.
I am Nicholas Allen and for my final major project I had to make something relating to identity for which I had chosen my own and decided to create an animation based on the characters I have made for my game who each show a part of my personality with Mew representing me directly, here you can see one of my posters, my FMP video along with my showreal.
During this course I have learnt how to use different media programmes effectively and efficiently to create my projects. This is all on my personal channel so feel free to subscribe to follow my journey as I advance my career in animation, video production and game development.
Hello, my name is Nathaniel Wright and I have created a massive video that links to the theme of identity which is based of my bloodline including their struggles from the start. I am planning on making more parts to the edit in the future but for now, the first part is based on the Scottish and Irish routes between a Catholic and a Roman Gypsie who survived the horrors of society attempting to ruin their lives.
I have improved my editing skills that fits on the beat and using a green screen effect for merging myself with the background of the video. I also used some animated text in the video to show what song is played or how many years it was since the ancestry started. In addition to improving the video quality and adding a moving image in the background. the video I have created is called "Nathaniel's Ancestry" and it's a follow on from another project (Cut to the Beat) before which teases this video.
My name is Jarrad, I created a short film/documentary about myself for my FMP. I wanted to do this because I feel like more people need to know who I am outside of college, it is also focused on the relationship and bond I have with my Grandad. I took inspiration from one of my favourite artists, Travis Scott and his documentary "Look Mom I Can Fly", this helped me with the subjects I talked about while creating my documentary.
This is Fmp is key part to moving forward in the editing industry, which is what I want to try and be apart of, all my life I've been fascinated with how music can be pared so well with scenes from either: Movies, Tv shows, Video Games and Anime. I watch edits on YouTube and that also helped me develop my project further.
I am Cole Johnson, and what I did for my FMP is develop a style of found footage horror by using a 3D software called Blender, basing it around the viral indie game "Poppy Playtime", this uses a mix of animation and an eerie atmosphere to create storytelling that is sure to terrify an audience with its gritty visuals, interesting dialogue and static-y sounds.
This is a big step towards my goal of becoming apart of the industry that I have been enamoured with ever since I was young, and East Coast College has showed me various methods to create ideas that have been cooking up in my mind for far too long, and with the help of the staff as well as my own imagination, I was finally able to put my metaphorical pen to paper.
This FMP had taught me to utilize cinematography to create an atmosphere, and I believe I have utilized it well within the animation.
My name is Elliott Roberts and my FMP is a Doctor Who spin off called Doctor Devil that is basically a Doctor that found himself to be created for the Timelords in the Time War and this character has a direct link to my identity. how I act, my mannerisms, my ways of coping like the anxious tapping. I have also added Sci-Fi equivalents to situations that I have been in, in there.
The reasoning I did a Doctor Who Spin Off script is because its a massive goal of mine to work for bad wolf studios in Whales. so writing a script like this could end up being a gateway to that if I learn other skills amongst it, it could really be crucial to getting me there one day.
This FMP has taught me a lot about myself. I've learnt about how well I write scripts if I have the right knowledge and technique I can write anything. The FMP has also taught me that every script writer has there own style and technique on how to write a script and researching it has helped me develop my own technique.
I have done a informative video on haunted locations as well that I have edited and have had my voice in and worked as a group to create a information video for ghost hunters out there.
I have also made some other edits such as a "cut to the beat" video. One with lyrics and one without and I have also done one just with video. i experimented a bit and saw what it was I liked and I'm very proud of my work here.
Hello my name is Justin Arendse and this is my FMP video, I created this over the course of a few weeks with my dad, the storyline is originally a dream sequence but slowly turned into a more realistic idea, the story is about a man by the name of Seishin who is trying to find his way out a loop hole he is stuck in and eventually in the end he gets an idea that will help him escape. Most shots were recorded back at my home with my dad, we had a few issues with the camera and audio along the way of making this video but managed to work around and fix it. What I learnt while doing my FMP is how to handle camera equipment properly, making use of all the cameras functions and just exploring the kit I was given which included a tri-pod and audio recorder as well, the tri-pod helped to keep the camera at a good and steady angle, the audio recorder was used for the inner monologue that I put in-between scenes where there is no talking. I learnt about how to colour correct/grade as well which helped me improve the last part of my video to make it easier to see the characters and prevents people from getting blinded by the enormous ray of light reflecting off me and my dad.
Hi my name is Cian Biggs and my FMP is about identity. The identity I chose to do for this project is about a prisoner that's been sentenced for life in the highest security prison based in America that has recently escaped I used his cell to show what kind of man he is by using the drawings and items shown on the table and how the cell looks like its been worn. The idea of the cell being in terrible conditions was to show how unstable he is and how little the guards go to check if he's still alive.
I chose to do animation because I do generally enjoy animation and I've learned how to make a hole in a wall and how to make a window with bars and I'm hoping to start doing character movement next.
Hi my name is Erin Tedstone and this is my final project, show reel and poster. I created this project about identity to show my personal identity and take people back to my childhood so they can make their own opinions about my identity. This is to see how I am perceived by others. To back up this point, I have added interviews of my friends to see how they perceive me by them describing me in three words. As well as this, I've assigned a colour to each of my friends to show their own identities and how I view them. The colours relate to their personalities and people can also make their own opinions on this. I have added various parts of my identity such as my interests too. Lastly, I have made my show reel including my best work and I have created a poster showing multiple identities and who is features in my film/documentary.
For my FMP project, I created a short film about a dysfunctional relationship along with two poster for it. The reason I chose this subject was through process of elimination and also the amount of different approaches I could take on this subject. During this project, I tested my skill in mise-en-scene and composition by using creative set ups and camera techniques to enhance the audiences experience. For example, creating barriers, POV shots, selective shot lengths more. During this project I learnt the consequences and benefits of different lighting techniques and how much room you have to leave for colour grading. This will allow me to create better looking cinematography in the future.
Hi, I'm Sol Casey, the creator of "Hammer-Man," which was my Final Major Project. In this project, I delve into the psychology of the main character, who is portrayed by me. "Hammer-Man" is a man with schizophrenia, and through this character, I explore complex mental health themes. During the production, I experimented with lighting to give the project a noir vibe, enhancing its dramatic and mysterious atmosphere. Additionally, this project includes my show reel, which showcases my work and development over the course of the year.
I am Dragos and for my FMP I made a short video going over my current journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In the video, I go over what BJJ is and it's origins and how it is tied to the UFC. I then go into how I started BJJ and how I am finding it. I included clips of me training along side others training at Blacksails, the place I train at, I also talked about what I wish to achieve with BJJ and what I plan to do in the near future. Below is also my show reel showing my best and favourite pieces of work alongside a poster I made for my FMP project.
My name is Beatriz Da Silva and for my FMP I broadened my knowledge relating to the usage of the various apps/websites we're granted access to within Creative Media, apps such as Photoshop. My improvement through this, and other projects, is shown through my final edits which were created in said app to include elements of whimsy found within 'Alice in Wonderland'.
This movie was my main focus throughout the completion process of this project as I had chosen it as the topic to carry through my works.
The animation movie of 1951 was one of my favourites while growing up therefore making it an avid part of my identity due to the fond memories I carry of its story and aesthetic.
I'm Ruben, and for my Final Major Project (FMP), I created a short video where I discuss my hobbies and various interests that I find particularly engaging.
Hi, I'm Jamie Phillips and this is the range of work I made for my FMP project, the project is named "identity". For this project, I focused on my love for music formed from when I was to what it is now. I go over how I discovered artists throughout the years as well as my favourite genres from each year. I chose to use a mix of real-life footage as well as gameplay footage of various games as this is where my editing skills shine. I would also say that the posters I made for this project are some of the best posters I've made since starting Creative Media. I wanted the posters to focus on the idea that music can distract us from the outside noise of the world, that's why there are soundwaves around the silhouette in one of the posters.
Hello, I am Joe-Jay, for one of my final projects I went to the Beccles Food Festival to film what was there, I then made an edit of the food festival promoting what was at the festival.
