Privacy in the Digital Age

Digital privacy refers to protecting personal information online — like names, contact details, photos, or location — from being misused or shared without permission.

Students need to understand how to keep their information safe when using email, social media, and educational platforms. 

When students publish blogs, submit assignments, or participate in online discussions, they share information. It’s important to teach them what personal data they can safely share — and what to keep private.

Using strong passwords.

Logging out of shared computers.

Not posting your school, location, or private photos online.

Turning off location-sharing on devices.

Teachers should model safe behavior and explain how websites track data. ICT support should help students use privacy settings, especially when accessing learning management systems or submitting projects online.
