Get Started
So, you want to create a portfolio that documents what you know and can do to make a difference in your school or district. the first thing is to decide on an audience:
Parents? You can document the kinds of ways you can assist them in helping their children with the various types of learning experiences offered to their children.
Superintendent? Demonstrate how what you can contribute that further the district plan for teaching and learning.
Board of Education: Pitch yourself ready and able to make a major contribution that supports thier agenda.
Principal: Document what you can contribute to the school: the principal's initiative; classroom teachers, grade level teams, departments or any other school-wide initiative.
Classroom teachers: how you can partner with them to make a difference for every child or teen they teach

Create a unit plan for you as a Digital Learning Leader with your instructor partner
No matter the content management system your school or district is using such as Canvas or Schoology, or Google classroom, we recommend that you send the instructor and the students to a Knowledge Building Center that is a Google Site where the digital learning leader and the instructor are co-editors and all the activities for a unit with the student happen. This site allows the students and the instructors to collaborate...it is not just a list of assignments for the students to complete and turn in. You can see examples these KBCs or Knowledge Building Center unit plans on the portfolio page of this website. Note: Be sure that whatever platform you are using, the two instructors should have co-editing power. You want tobe coteachers;
