As the Literary Club, we celebrate the joy of reading and respect the creative efforts of authors worldwide. On 23 April 2025, the Literary Club of the Senior Department hosted an unforgettable Author’s Interaction with Ms Sanya Malhotra, our esteemed alumna and the award-winning author of the captivating poetry collection ‘Yours Truly’, a proud recipient of the prestigious Emily Dickinson Award. The atmosphere turned even more energetic as students formed groups of five to respond to a creative prompt and craft their own micro-stories, which were later presented by enthusiastic representatives from each group. To cap off this enriching experience, two students delivered a delightful enactment that vividly illustrated the value of reading, bringing a beloved fictional character to life through their imaginative lens. This engaging session blended creativity with learning, perfectly encapsulating the spirit of literature and the power of imagination. The enthusiasm among students was palpable, and they eagerly look forward to more inspiring events in the future.
The Literary Club celebrated its Annual Christmas Gathering on December 20, 2024, in the beautifully decorated Senior Library, with a delightful blend of festive activities and camaraderie. The event began with a warm welcome, followed by a fun-filled trivia and games session that energized the attendees. Participants enjoyed a cozy coffee-and-cake break during an open mic segment that showcased student talents, adding vibrancy to the celebration, and the heartwarming Secret Santa gift exchange promoted bonding and holiday spirit, while the photo session and fun banter with Santa added a touch of fun, humor and engagement of students. The presence of the esteemed Principal Mr. L.V. Sehgal, and the Vice Principal Ms. Vinita Dhawan added prestige to the occasion.
On October 28, 2024, the Literary Club hosted "Unleash Your Inner Wimpy Kid," inspired by Jeff Kinney's popular series. The event encouraged students to express their creativity by dressing as their favorite characters, such as Greg, Rowley, Manny, and Fregley. Anchors kicked off the event, which featured live skits, book reviews, and a Q&A session with a student dressed as Jeff Kinney. Panelists engaged with participants and awarded outstanding performances and costumes, fostering a sense of achievement and highlighting that every child has a “wimpy kid” within them, ready to showcase their talents.
We organized an event on 30 September in the library during the zero and first periods, bringing together various teams to present stories they created on the spot. The event offered a thrilling and thought-provoking experience to the teams. It turned out to be a memorable event, offering great encouragement to students who had not participated. Ms. Sanya Dang Beri served as the judge and selected the winners.
In the spirit of joy and literary camaraderie, the Literary Club orchestrated a memorable Christmas Extravaganza for its members on December 20, 2024. This enchanting event aimed not only to celebrate the festive season but also to foster a sense of unity and shared experiences among the students. From a captivating movie screening to the heartwarming Secret Santa gift exchange, and the unveiling of the new Office Bearers Team, the Christmas Extravaganza unfolded as a tapestry of entertainment and meaningful connections.
In preparation for the Decor Making Competition, students crafted Christmas-themed decorations inspired by their favorite books and movies. Diverse themes, ranging from timeless classics to modern gems, showcased the students' creative flair. The collaborative spirit and experimentation with materials added to the event's vibrancy. A collaborative spirit prevailed as students exchanged ideas and supported each other. This phase not only fueled creativity but also strengthened camaraderie among participants.
In this event we exhorted participants to come up with creative stories as they weaved their tales from the prompts provided to them on the spot. This event was different from other as it required more than just giving speech, it expects the participant to use their imagination and requires spontaneity putting the analytical as well as creative part of the brain to work.
