Dr. Kumardeep Chaudhary completed his M.Sc. (2009) in Systems Biology & Bioinformatics from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India and Ph.D. (2016) in Bioinformatics from CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, India. He then joined University of Hawaii, Cancer Center, USA as a Postdoctoral Fellow (2016-2017), later in 2018 he moved to Charles Bronfman Institute for Personalized Medicine (IPM), Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, USA, where he continued his Postdoctoral research till early 2021.
In 2021 Dr. Chaudhary joined CSIR-Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB) as a Senior Scientist and setup his laboratory with the research theme of "Digital and Genomic Medicine". Current focus areas include:
AI-based solutions for cardiovascular diseases in South Asian Population
Identification of robust diagnostic, prognostic and predictive biomarkers
Digital and Genomic Medicine for precision healthcare for complex diseases
AMR and metagenomics

Her research interest lies in analyzing single-cell or bulk cell multi-omics data specific to triple negative breast cancer, with aim to identify diagnostic and prognostic applications for improved therapeutics.
She is proficient in R programming and familiar with Python, Perl, Java and Shell scripting.

Satyartha Prakash
Ph.D. Candidate
His research area focuses on BioNLP and its applications, as it makes him curious to find a meaningful crux from unstructured corpus all over the internet.
CSIR-IGIB being a phenomenal as a biomedical data source, allows him to gather and assess biomedical unstructured textual data and explore the insights that language has to unleash.
His experience includes implementation of Data science and Machine learning techniques in clinical research (cohort study) and Deep learning in Medical Imaging.
His hobbies include traveling and photography.

Ishita Dasgupta
Project Associate – I
She is deeply interested in analyzing bulk cell multi-omics data within the context of cancer genomics. She is also eager to delve into the realm of single-cell data analysis, as it presents an opportunity to explore intricate systems and uncover novel insights. She aims to contribute to the ongoing research and development in cancer genomics, enhance understanding of the disease, and pave the way for improved therapeutics.
She has worked with Python and R language and is also familiar with shell scripting, Java, and C.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading literature, particularly thrillers, and science fiction.

Kunal Sharma
Research Intern
His interest lies in analyzing the host pathogen interactions and drug repurposing for personalized medication and novel drug target identification.
He has worked extensively on deciphering the multi-functional properties of cytokines as his dissertation project and gained Bash skills during the course. He is getting acquainted with Bash, Python and basic R plotting.
He aspires to work on immunotherapy and understanding the interface of cancer biology and immunology.
