spanish hack.
cringy title screen.
showing off my spanish
start point for world 1
back at it again with the realistic-looking backgrounds
this is one feature i actually liked
boring layouts
danna liked the music here
recycled underground layouts
in case you don't already know
captain obvious part ii
basic gimmick of the game
for those who've never played smw before, apparently
level design is pretty underwhelming
my mom would always accidentally carry it instead
another thing i liked: unique castle intro cutscenes
this is gonna hurt
basic buggy boom-boom boss
extra way of saying, yellow koopas turn invincible
i like how i reused this layout from Diego's Challenge here
more obvious stuff
that's a long tree
upside-down trees?
go back through the pipe you exited the cave from to get here
sunny's embassy
first world boss stage intro
secret exit here
world 1 yoshi house
chucks abound in this cave
each world has an artifact that you have to recover
it's pretty cringy
a gradient background color would've made this perfect
boring cave
warning, the colors here may cause epilepsy
pyramid level entrance
this pyramid's all about custom blocks
red are impassable for mario, green are impassible for sprites
icy blocks that can be shattered with fireballs
secret passage from the fire flower room leading to the exit
the multi-fireball patch really shines through in this level
another secret passage, this time for the secret exit
for some reason, having a cape in this area may cause you to clip through the floor and land here
so being the lazy person that i am, i just fixed it putting a secret shortcut to the exit here
that pipe leads you here
world 2 yoshi house
more obvious advice
lots of smb3 enemies in this stage: pile-driver micro-goombas
secret exit down here was a genius idea
especially love this fort intro
this is gonna sting
kick the koopa shell through here
desert fort corridor
second boom-boom fight, this time some blocks to obstruct
falling donuts for panic value
get the star early on to make this stage a cakewalk
eileen's embassy
the trick here is to pick the path that looks different from the rest
destroy indiscriminately
left, left, right, left, right.
dig, dig, dig.
goodies for those who got the yellow switch palace back there
keepaway from phanto
don't get crushed
these koopas are about to get rekt
...except that one
annoying thwomp boss that almost every hack had back in the day
wayy overdoing it
world 2 map after it's been completed
watery cave segment using the same lousy cave gfx
ugly looking beach
island fork, kitty isle on the left, doggy isle on the right
this was actually a clever idea ngl
the oxygen gimmick gave my mom anxiety whenver she did it
on/off switch ties this whole level gimmick together, honestly
path to the doggy isle. screen doesn't scroll, but you gotta be quick
path to the kitty isle does scroll, so don't fall behind
kitty isle, aka beachy labyrinth
return of the pee-colored cave
secret passage to the yellow yoshi
watch out for this jerk
you can either eat the blue shell..
...or take the p-balloon
this cave just exists in case you need to reset the stuff outside
did you hit the on/off switch in this stage?
bland coin heaven area
falling back to earth
doggy isle, a lot more tropical
missed the pow block by like a pixel
para-goombas and purple flowers everywhere
jackpot. each giant coin is worth 50 regular coins
lakitus are annoying
there's a lakitu here that makes your life hell if you don't take it out
i LOVE this intro so much
the inside of the fort, not so much
the tide pulling you here is ANNOYING
at least if the tide goes down, you can keep swimming even if you fall to the bottom
this boom-boom fight is evil
but not as evil as this fish
this is a cute little building
another monument to custom blocks
