I have been an educator for 20 years, and each year has taught me that the needs of the students changes based on life experiences and personal expectations. Within this time, I have come to respect, collaborate and connect with a community of leaders from all levels of the school system who honour educators by giving them a venue or voice to share their experience and expertise. I want to build upon this further whereby educators support each other as professionals with a focus on student success, which in turn, directly impacts student achievement and well-being.

I envision this forum as a venue for engaging students and teachers through the learning process, whereby students have opportunities to become problem solvers, creators, communicators, collaborators and global citizens.

Student: empathy approach to the user needs via social entrepreneurship

• Find the 'spark', what ignites student interest and passion
• Use this to guide students in recognizing how it is transferrable in other areas in their life and learning experiences
• Create conditions for which students will be motivated to reach personal and learning goals by hearing their input
• Encourage students to learn but also set an example that inspires others in venues to showcase learning
