4th mobility in Spain

During the week of March 6-10, 2023, the 4th transnational life meeting took place within the framework of the Erasmus program entitled “Discover and care about your natural Surroundings” № 2020-1-ES01-KA229-081832_2. The meeting took place in Priego de Cordoba, Spain. Our school was represented by four students and two teachers. The purpose of this mobility was for the students to get to know the National Forests of Spain and to present their work on the actions that have been carried out to improve the quality of life in the area where they live. During our stay in Priego de Cordoba the students presented to the school the interviews they took in their country with a manager of a protected area agency.

The greek students were interviewed by O.FY.PE.K.A. (Epirus Protected Areas Management Unit). They also presented work they did regarding the actions of the Municipality of our city in order to make our place environmentally friendly. They worked in groups and discussed the differences and similarities of each country's activities. At the end they presented to the plenary.

As part of the program we visited the Subbetica Natural Park where we were informed by scientists about the flora and fauna of the area and hiked the mountain. We visited the mycological garden “La Trufa” in Sagrilla which is the first and only mycological garden in Europe and was declared a UNESCO World Geopark.

Among other activities we got to know the city of Priego de Cordoba, we were guided to the Alhambra Palace in Granada and the Mosque in Cordoba, the historic center of which was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The students were hosted in the homes of their classmates in Priego de Cordoba and came into direct contact with the culture of the people, acquiring the experiential knowledge that is one of the main objectives of the program. The warm hospitality of the families and the excellent organization of the Spaniards left us with the best impressions.
