At DIBS, we understand that families come in all shapes and sizes and different families have different needs. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, auncle, cousin, sibling, nibling, child, friend, young, or old, we are here to support you!
Having multiple children impacts your ability to follow through on things like a token economy.
Multiple parent systems can impact communication and consistency.
Factors such as age can lower a person's energy and/or ability to provide physical or sensory support.
Unexpected additions to the family can create conflict and sometimes even competition, making it difficult to maintain structure.
Our providers are also trained in trauma informed care, so we are prepared for any history!
Caregiver training can be provided via telehealth or in person. Every training program will be designed for all caregivers involved. Frequency of training will be determined by you (and--to a lesser extent--your health insurance). It can be anywhere from one hour per month to two hours per week. This service is typically provided in concert with direct services, but it can be provided as a stand-alone service in some cases.
Need more than two hours per week? Check out our Family Consultation Services!
This training will give you all the knowledge any RBT has and will be delivered in a manner specific to your family's needs. Goals will be set for caregivers and progress towards those goals will be tracked. That may sound like a lot of additional work because, let's face it, taking care of another individual is exhausting enough as it is. We guarantee that these skills will lighten your load.
Being a parent or caregiver can feel isolating, even without additional barriers. Caregivers give everything they have to their children and families, leaving little energy or time for themselves. For many people, it is important to connect to others in similar situations. Contact us for more information.
