Recording studios like the Evergreen Stage have seen their fair share of musical legends and saw the birth of iconic film and television themes or sounds. With its large and open space, the Evergreen Stage can accommodate large bands and orchestras and was the perfect space to host the Wild Faery Company for their Final Fantasy XIV Eorzean Symphony.
The night before the 2018 US premiere, the company stopped by the Evergreen Stage for a last minute rehearsal. While the live room is large and can accommodate 60 musicians comfortably, the challenge of housing the 126 musicians was a fun experience. Vocalist Amanda Achen-Keenan shared the experience in a video online.
The Wild Faery Company specializes in video game orchestral performance but have performed on other subjects as well such as: Harry Potter, Frozen, Star Wars and Pirates of the Carribbean. The Final Fantasy Concerts are now part of their recurring repertoire along with the upcoming, Kingdom Hearts Orchestra.
The studio was hard pressed to allow for enough room, but given that the Wild Faery Company musicians consisted of 50 vocalists, there was room for the 76 piece orchestra. It’s an example of how versatile studios like the Evergreen Stage have become to meet the various demands of the music industry, which don’t always pertain to recording.
