Dheekshitha Venkadeshan, known professionally as Dhee, is an Australian singer of Sri Lankan Tamil descent. Born to a Sri Lankan father and an Indian mother who is also a playback singer, she was raised in Sydney and has sung songs mostly in her stepfather musician Santhosh Narayanan's albums. At the young age of 25, she has won multiple SIIMA awards and the Filmfare Award for Best Playback Singer. She has also received the Behindwoods Gold Medal Award for Best Playback Singer. Her songs have garnered over 2.5 billion views on YouTube. On Spotify, The singer has 6 million monthly listeners and is known for her distinctive alto voice.
In 67th Parle Filmfare Awards South 2022 she won the prestigious award for Best Playback Singer (Female) for her for 'Kaattu Payale' from 'Soorarai Pottru'.
During this award ceremony she sang her then latest song "Enjoy Enjaami" which led to her receiving standing ovation from the crowd.
Dheekshitha is signed with Maajja which is an independent record label and distribution company based out of Toronto and Chennai. Unlike traditional record labels, the label does not own their artists’ master recordings.
