I was honored to be named one of the winners of the Fall 2024 Triggering Change Competition, hosted by John Cabot University. This international competition challenged participants to develop creative solutions addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption & Production). My two-minute pitch proposed practical strategies for students to manage food more purposefully and plan their meals, aiming to reduce food waste and promote sustainable habits on campus and beyond.
As I shared in my pitch, “Let’s make food planning a habit, not just for a better budget, but also for a better planet.”
Winning this competition was a valuable opportunity to reflect on my relationship with sustainability and deepen my understanding of how daily actions impact the environment. The experience inspired me to approach climate and nature issues more thoughtfully and underscored the importance of cultivating a sustainability mindset in both personal and professional contexts.
