Hajar Afsar Lajevardi: Her ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND HIS IDEAS
Dr. Hajar Afsar Lajevardi was born in Hamedan, Iran, in 1955. She was one in a family which included two children. As a youth, she was noted for being outstanding in sporting events and academic endeavors. After graduating from high school in 1960, she earned her Medical Doctorate Degree from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1971 as the youngest woman graduating from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. She was straight accepted at the Anesthesiology department for residency. After residency, she went to the Pediatric Department and started her second residency at the pediatric department Tehran medical university. After serving a mandatory two years in the rural area Shahrod City in a different capacity as Head of Sopital, Chair of the pediatric department. She returned to Tehran as an Adjunct assistant professor and continued her graduate studies in pediatric infectious disease. She runs more than four charities in her remarkable life because of her dedication and outstanding ability as a pediatrician, many researchers and clinicians formed a memorial foundation as "Dr. H. Afsar Lajevardi Research Cluster" DHALC. This Center will annually present a symposium to honor the memory of Dr. H. Afsar Lajevardi and demonstrating her highest level of excellence and commitment to the care of children
