Main scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals

I published >325 scientific papers in refereed astrophysical journals.
- They are all accessible via a NASA ADS public library where they have >24300 citations, with h-factor > 70.
- I am corresponding, single, or first author of 22% of them, and second or third author of 39% (the large majority of the latter have students or postdocs under my supervision first).
- 80% of my main scientific papers were published with small groups of authors or by myself alone. Many are led by my students and postdocs. The remaining 20% were published with large collaborations. In these ones, I acted as corresponding author, and/or main editor, and/or PI/Co-I of the observational proposal, and/or participated in the group related to the analysis, interpretation, discussion, or paper-writing.

In addition to the papers quoted above I have co-authored 300+ papers as a member of collaborations.
- Being a member of a collaboration usually implies having responsibilities at the management, technical, or decision-making committees, which are reflected in co-authorship of the papers that the corresponding instrument produces. I have also provided direct scientific feedback in many of these others papers, despite I do not include them in my list of main scientific publications.
I have also published > 65 additional scientific papers in refereed conference proceedings, and written 8 reviews as chapters of books.

Citations rankings

I am appearing in the 2024 Stanford/Elsevier list of the most-quoted scientists worldwide (ranking 127 out of 52115 astronomers, at the top 0.3% of the field, being ranked similarly since its inception in 2019). I am also appearing as the most quoted physicist in Spain and the 6th in all fields, in the index elaborated by Research.com, (ranked similarly since its inception in 2022).
