Metabolic differentiation of anthocyanin biosynthesis
Overview
Overview
It is a common phenomenon that plant secondary metabolism is normally specialized in specific organs, tissues, or cells. The mechanisms of this metabolic phenomenon are unclear. One hypothesis is that this type of specialized metabolism results from gene expression programming and reprogramming controlled by complicate mechanisms. We are using anthocyanin biosynthesis-specialized cells to understand gene expression programming and identify genes involved in reprogramming .
