The coronavirus era of shuttered school campuses has severely challenged our K-12 education system, awakening us, demanding that each and every student has access to the 21st century learning tools.
Approximately, 56M K-12 students are expected to attend elementary and secondary school in the United States this Fall of 2020 (NCES). According to the most recent federal data (NTIA), about 14 percent of households contributing towards these 56 million K-12 students do not have internet access. In addition to home internet, 17% live in households without a laptop or desktop computer. This fall, when online learning seems to be even more important, at least 11 million students don’t have a computer at all, in addition to those that may need to share a single device with siblings.
Please help us, Devices4U2020, shine the spotlight on these disparities in our education system. Help us build a more robust digital infrastructure for the future. Help us SECURE A FUTURE.
