Solids & Materials Lab (Group Website Link): Aug 2022 - Present
Materials Department, University of California Santa Barbara
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Materials Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). My research focuses on computational mechanics, finite element analysis, phase transformations, crystal plasticity, fracture mechanics, and photomechanics. Through research experiences at UCSB, IIT Kanpur, and Idaho National Laboratory, I have worked on a broad range of multiphysics problems spanning light-responsive materials, polycrystalline plasticity, and subsurface energy systems.
My academic training spans mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, and materials science. Prior to joining UCSB, I earned an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) and an M.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, after completing my B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering in 2019. This interdisciplinary background has shaped my research interests at the intersection of computational mechanics, materials modeling, and multiphysics simulations.
Outside of research, I enjoy biking, hiking, reading, and travelling.
